March 21st (Calgary, AB) – The Calgary Leadership Forum is releasing the results of an extensive survey looking at key issues affecting Calgary. The survey conducted by Mainstreet Research has a margin of error of +/- 3.07%, 19 times out of 20.

“ I was not surprised to see the high percentage of voters pessimistic of their own financial status and the state of the economy in Alberta. We are entering into an another year or two years of grave uncertainty as to our economic well being,” said James Maxim of the Calgary Leadership Forum.

“The Calgary Next project is being followed by a large percentage of Voters at 64% which I find very interesting,” he continued. “Almost half of Calgarians (48%) say it should be the Flames Ownership that should pay for CalgaryNext. 1/5 have not made up their mind yet as to whether government should be involved, but the trend is pretty clear that many are opposed to taxpayer involvement in this project.”

– 62% approve of Neheed Nenshi’s performance as Mayor.
– 37% of Calgarians are pessimistic about their families financial situation.
– 67% are pessimistic about the state of the Alberta economy.
– 64% approve of adding flouride to Calgary’s drinking water.
– 64% of Calgarians are following the Calgary Next development story.
– 43% approve and 44% oppose the Calgary Next Project
– 48% think that the Calgary Flames Ownership should pay for the project
