In Mainstreet’s final poll for the 2021 Newfoundland and Labrador election, the incumbent Liberals continue to maintain a lead comfortable lead of 21% over the Progressive Conservatives going into election day.
Between those who said they had voted already and those still left to vote, among decided and leaning voters the Liberals sit at 53% (-1% since February 11) with the Progressive Conservatives trailing at 32% (+6%). Allison Coffin’s NDP lags behind both parties at 9% (-8%), and the Newfoundland and Labrador Alliance party remains at 2% (Unchanged).
The Liberals continue to maintain leads in all sub-regions of the province.
Respondents were also asked how they would vote if a new election started today and those results are not far off from current vote intentions. Under a new election the Liberals would take 51%, the PCs 30%, the NDP 9%, the NL party 2%. 8% of voters would choose a different party or candidate altogether.
